good day world. i am back from hk! i had a very enjoyable time there shopping, eating, and going on a day trip to ocean park and the peak with the other sconers!

the nine of them stayed at karen's place. i think karen was a superb host. even on just the one full day i spent with them, i could see how much she had to do planning where to go, how to go, and translating everything for them. it must have been a trying job.

i think i had an average of 5 meals a day there :O really a lot, but you can't go to hk without eating all their fabulous yam chas and desserts! good thing i had to walk around a lot too, so the intake and outake kind of cancelled off :D

so i got enough winter clothes, all kindly paid for by my parents hehehe. normally in sg and kl i pay for all my shopping, which should be the way since shopping is not a necessity; we can all do with a little tightening on our reins in that respect. anyway i'm thankful my cantonese was at least good enough to communicate with the sales assistants. and i learnt the chinese characters for some dim sums that my parents always love to order in hk too. like ngau pa yip (beef stomach) and min fa gai (some chicken wrap). so you see the trip was fairly educational too! hah.

the hotel i stayed at with my parents has apparently been chosen to be used for beijing olympics; the horse riding events will be held close by the where i stayed. coolness.

on day 4 i met the sconers to go to ocean park. it was crazy fun being with them. we did sconepose in the automated ride camera shots and made the mascots do sconepose with us for our photos too! haha. a few of the rides were fun! i liked the train one, the dragon, the viking and the abyss. and they were telling me so many funny little stories of what happened to past few days. after ocean park we went to the peak. the view was breathtaking! the cold and wind at the viewing roof forced us to return indoors after not long though. for dinner we went to a beef noodles place near karen's house. beef stomach noodles was a first for me! we had dessert later too. i love my classmates and how we always have good clean fun whenever we're together (:
